What is Okta?

Okta, it is our new Identity and Access Management platform. This product over time will help you to log in to many of your applications.

What can Okta do for me?

You will have fewer usernames and passwords to remember.

Okta allows you to safely store usernames and passwords for programs like Gmail, Calendar, and Drive. It will also give you the option to reset your network password (the one you use to log into your computer every day) without having to contact the DOTComm Service Desk.

In other cases, Okta will be the password manager in your browser for your unique or shared Web applications. Okta will automatically enter your username and password for you and log you into the application, so you will need to remember fewer passwords.

Okta has self-service Windows password reset functionality so you reset your account password just as you have with your bank or any other online accounts. We can now reset your Windows password through links sent to your personal email account or a text message sent to your mobile phone.

When will Okta start?

The first phase of this project is scheduled to start August 9, 2018. This first phase will change how all departments login to Gmail and other Google apps.

How will logging into my email change?
